Top Supplements for Gut Health

Here are the top supplements for gut health that I use and recommend to others to accelerate the healing process of digestive disorders along with foods.

Most of the gut health supplements I use and recommend are made of whole foods and not made of isolated ingredients.

An example, is I use amla berry fruit also called Indian gooseberry to provide vitamin C and not only ascorbic acid. Amla fruit contains vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and many other co-factors that are naturally occurring in the amla fruit. This is the philosophy I follow with gut health supplements not that isolated vitamins and minerals don't have place but you need to be very carful using them..

These Top Supplements for Gut Health are in no Particular Order

Colostrum Supplements for Gut Health

Bovine colostrum is considered nature's perfect first food or the pre-milk. Colostrum contains many critical nutrients called immune factors that help boost the immune system and provide support in healing the gut.

Probiotic Supplements for Gut Health

Probiotics are one of the underappreciated tools that can help with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and other digestive problems. They also help to optimize your health when using therapeutic probiotics. There are many probiotics for gut health but these I have researched, used, and trust.

Collagen for Gut Health

provide the nutritional building blocks to support the repair of promoting a healthy digestive tract, gut health, and skin. Collagen also helps with damaged cartilage and bone. Add collagen to your lean beef meat stew and make it more complete.

Best Cod Liver Oil Supplement

I personally use a blend of butter oil concentrate and fermented cod liver oil but the other ones are also good quality just make sure you include food that has a good amount of K2 vitamin. Cod liver oil is high in vitamin A, vitamin D, and the elongated omega-3 fatty acids DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). It is my number one supplement that I take a small amount every day, especially during the winter season.

High Vitamin Butter Oil

Butter oil concentrate contains vitamins A, D, and K2. Dr. Weston A. Price found using concentrated butter oil with cod liver oil is more effective than using only cod liver oil. He called this nutrient Activator X (K2 MK-4). Dr. Price discovered vitamin Activator X is high in cow's milk and when cows are grazing on rapidly growing grass during springtime.

Grass-fed Organ Meat Supplement

As I have written and preached on my website about the importance of organs as they are the most nutrient-dense foods on Earth. Your first choice is to eat organs starting with liver, heart, and so on. However, I know some individuals will not, then your best choice would be organ supplements.

Natural Vitamin C

The Indian gooseberry or amla berry from pure planet contains 75% of organic amla berry and 25% of spirulina. Organic acerola berry is another superfood that contains vitamin C with other cofactors, bioflavonoids, and rutin. all these naturally occurring nutrients optimize the body’s absorption and use of vitamin C, ascorbic acid.

Medicinal Mushroom Supplements

I realize that I am biased, but the best medicinal mushroom supplements that I used are reishi and chaga mushroom extracts from Surthrival. Because of the quality they provide:

  • They use a dual-extraction process
  • The extraction made with organic grape alcohol
  • And the extraction liquid is stored in a violet Miron glass bottle for stability and freshness.

These medicinal mushrooms have been used for hundreds of years in China, Japan, Korea, and Russia to name a few. one of the functioning healing mechanisms is they have immunomodulating properties.

That means these mushrooms provide what is called a bi-directional effect to bring balance to both excessively active immune systems such as autoimmunity.  At the same time, they support weak immune systems when there is an immune system deficiency.
